The Anderson Wedding in Hoschton, GA
Who knew you could learn so much about marriage from a couple on their wedding day?
When I first took a leap of faith into the wedding industry as a “professional” vendor, my purpose was to capture the moments that would tell a story of each respective family for generations… What I did not realize was the story is not ONLY for the future generations to be a small part of but for those that are presently living in the moment, as well. From the moment that Davonte & Vanessa Anderson asked myself and Miterson Charles (FilMitt Productions) to be their wedding photo + video team, I knew exactly the direction that I would take this collection. I found myself dreaming and thinking about how to make this day and project PERFECT because for one, D+N are two of my greatest friendships that I respect and value and for two, this was a dream portfolio piece for my growing business.
Well, that sounds selfish but let me tell you God has a powerful way of humbling and providing…
The morning of July 9th, 2022 came with hidden frustrations and selfish thoughts as rain drenched the grounds of this beautiful wedding site. I’m usually a “glass half full” type of person in my everyday life and to many of my JHP Couples, but this one I started to search for backup plans. Remember how I stated above that God always finds a way to humble AND provide? Well, here He goes…
The start of the day came with a lot of opportunities to relax and enjoy the moment for those that weren't in Mitt and I’s shoes… details, flatlays, getting ready shots, etc. had our attention but in the back of my mind was “Will this rain ever stop?”. Taryn (M-O-H) AND Whitney (my wife) both said something along the lines of
“Stop worrying about what God already has taken care of…”
in their own words… These two statements flipped my mindset immediately. Now looking back - God was telling us to put our worries to the side and enjoy the moment; to appreciate the little things now so that the big picture can have more purpose in our lives as we reflect on the day. WOW…
I found myself forgetting about my desired outcome of the final gallery as a business owner and started documenting the story the way it was always intended to - their story is the testimony of who and what God is in their relationship…
Consistent, Intentional, Trustworthy, and ALWAYS On Time
Photos will always tell a better story than my words ever will… Check out some powerful moments from Davonte + Vanessa Andersons beautiful, faith-filled wedding below!
